Jake Sully has been assigned to planet Pandora by the army to receive training on assuming the body of a Pa'vi-the native on that planet. The army's plan is to have a human mind take over the genetically built Pa'vi body to be able to interact with the natives and find out about their behaviour. Now Jake Sully is a former marine who has been paralysed from waist down. Imagine how happy he is when on transferring his mind to the body of a Pa'vi he can walk and climb again.

Jake learns about the the Na'vi way of life through Neytiri, the beautiful daughter of the Pa'vi's tribe leader. Soon he falls in love with her and the way of life of the tribe but then the army has learnt enough from Jake about the them.
The army starts to go into the offensive to mine a mineral that is wanted for earth's energy crisis and now it's Jake's turn to save his new found family.
This story is James Cameron's brainchild which he thought about 15 years ago. Then the technology was not available to create the special effects needed for this movie. And it took 4 production years to bring us this cinematic experience you won't forget.
